Probably better with less or no romance

It comes to no surprise if you read the description that this book comes with a setting based on Chinese folklore. It's a good story about the daughter of the imprisoned moon goddess. She had to flee and now finds herself in a place, the celestial realm, that is at best known to her by stories of her mother.

While the story revolves a lot around the realm, it's conflicts, characters and a good chunk of fantasy, a main part of the book is a love triangle. In my opinion this is where the protagonist is getting really boring.

Otherwise I loved the writing, it's really poetic and beautiful, characters and the world were interesting, the story was good and entertained me. It's a 3.5 for me because although I liked the book and will pick up the follow-up one, the fantasy story couldn't let me forget the in parts …
